Though he had a terrific game, Al Castro could not prevent his team, the New York Empires, from absorbing a loss. Los Angeles won the game, 8-5. Castro went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. Los Angeles reliever Phil Lester snagged the win, upping his record to 2-3. Jack Neenan shouldered the loss. Los Angeles is in 5th place in the American Baseball League Western Division with a record of 29-33.

Los Angeles took advantage of an error in the top of the ninth inning. The game was tied, 5-5, when Darrell Martin hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Pobladores in front, 6-5.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Los Angeles manager Alex Wobbema.
