Toronto Dismisses Baltimore, 3-0
|
Toronto Hurons starter Bob Trout pitched his team past the Baltimore Lords, 3-0. Trout, the winner, moves to 4-3. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 2 walks. Al West earned save number 8 this season.
Toronto used a clutch at-bat from Jorge Luna to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Hurons ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Toronto manager Jim Burns called it "a pretty good win."
The 6th-place Hurons have a record of 28-35.
