Drillers Prevail, 7-6, Over Dallas
|
The Houston Drillers overcame a pretty good performance by Dallas catcher Terry McClellan, beating the Wranglers, 7-6, at Sam Houston Field. McClellan went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Dallas falls to 4-2.
Had Mike Wells not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Wells hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Drillers.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Dallas manager William Albrecht. "The effort was great."
