Humphrey Throws 3-Hitter En Route to 7-1 Empires Win
|
The New York Empires beat the Seattle Emeralds, 7-1, at Puget Field. Starting pitcher Andy Humphrey was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The victory gives the Empires a record of 37-28.
New York starter Andy Humphrey was dynamite. The 5-foot-9 right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 9 innings.
"Andy was hitting his spots and everything had life," said New York manager Dan Whiting.
