Terriers Fall Short, 6-5, at San Francisco
|
Gary Williams had a good game, but he could not keep the Boston Terriers from falling, 6-5, to the San Francisco Seagulls at Mission Field. The Boston right fielder was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 in the loss. Dennis Fulton went 7 innings for San Francisco to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs. He scattered 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record improves to 8-3. With the win, the Seagulls have a record of 29-34.
In the bottom of the seventh, San Francisco right fielder Jose Sosa had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Sosa stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 6-4, San Francisco. For the game, he went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Sosa told the San Francisco Today.
