Packers Win at Home, 5-2
|
Joe Clabaugh, who finished 5th in the NBL in wins with 18 last year, propelled his team to victory over the Pittsburgh Industrials. The final score was 5-2, Cincinnati. In 9 innings, Clabaugh surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The win lifted the Cincinnati record to 32-32.
Stan Timmons had a big bases-clearing double for the Packers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Cincinnati leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Dennis Visco, who is tied for 5th in the NBL in triples with 4, and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Packers ahead, 4-0.
"We took home the win," said Timmons. "What's not to like?"
