Dario Perez, who finished 5th in the ABL in innings pitched with 247.2 in 1970, was locked in. The left-hander led the Dallas Wranglers to a 5-2 win against the Twin Cities Northmen at Bluff Park. The winner was Perez. He threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Gerald Gross. The 4th-place Wranglers now have a record of 30-37.

Dallas took a 3-2 lead on John Hammit's 11th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Hammit hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Twin Cities pitcher Joe Gibson visibly frustrated.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Hammit told the Dallas Today. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
