Emeralds Improve to 31-31 with 4-2 Win
|
Seattle Emeralds starter Dave Torre pitched a strong game against the Boston Terriers at Atlantic Avenue Grounds, leading the Emeralds to victory, 4-2. Torre, now 1-3, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The Emeralds, at 31-31, sit in 4th place in the American Baseball League Western Division.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ramon Montoya? The Seattle first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Emeralds on top, 1-0. For the game, Montoya had 2 doubles and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
