Washington Falls Again, 2-1
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials, despite a fine performance by Washington pitcher Billy Gray, grabbed a 2-1 win at Monument Field. Gray allowed 2 runs over 9 innings. The Eagles, now 23-41, have lost 6 in a row.
Pittsburgh used the hitting of Tim Grange to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Industrials on top, 1-0. For the game, Grange had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Grange.
