The Dallas Wranglers picked up a win at Bluff Park, dropping the Chicago Hawks, 7-6, in 11 innings. Steve Coomes, who finished 4th in the ABL in strikeouts with 160 in 1970, was the difference-maker. Dallas reliever Rob Banas picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mark Evert absorbed the loss. Dallas has now won 3 in a row.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Dallas pinch hitter Terry Meola, facing Mark Evert, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Wranglers the 7-6 win.

"Exciting game to play in," said Meola. "Getting the win makes it even better."
