Terriers Lose to Habitants, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring clash between Montreal and Boston, pitcher Manny Esparza was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 win. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Sam Corman. The win gives Montreal a record of 4-3.
The Habitants got a big at-bat from second baseman Roberto Alvarez. For the game, Alvarez went 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Montreal a 3-1 lead.
"Manny did a tremendous job," said Montreal manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon.
