Seagulls Win, 3-1, at New York
|
San Francisco Seagulls pitcher Jerry Patrick was all business, helping his team muzzle the New York Empires, 3-1. Paul Wiley, credited with the save, is now 4 for 4 in save opportunities. The American Baseball League Western Division-leading Seagulls have a record of 41-24.
Jose Sosa, who is tied for 3rd in the ABL in triples with 5, had a direct impact on the outcome. Sosa contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put San Francisco up, 1-0.
"It's a mindset," said Patrick. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
