Burros Win Squeaker, 2-1, Over Packers
|
Denver got an elite performance from starting pitcher John Gannon in securing a 2-1 decision over the Cincinnati Packers. The victory gives the Burros a record of 43-22.
Denver got a knockout punch from Leo Sentner. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Gannon. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
