Dairymen Drop Explorers, 8-4, with Late Score
|
It might have been a rain-shorted game, but Dairymen fans didn't seem to mind as long as their team got the win.
Milwaukee starter Tom Rockliffe pitched effectively against the St. Louis Explorers at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-4. At 27-41, Milwaukee is in last place in the National Baseball League Western Division.
Had Cliff Bragg not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Bragg hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Dairymen.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Bragg told the Milwaukee Chronicle.
