Bobcats Win Thriller, 7-6
The Washington Eagles and Cleveland Bobcats provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Cleveland Bobcats withstood a fine game by Washington shortstop Gary Long at Lakefront Stadium, to upend the Eagles, 7-6. Long was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Cleveland reliever Pat Burkholder, who finished 2nd in the NBL in ERA with 2.09 in 1967, was credited with the win. His record goes to 5-3. Richie Kingery took the loss for Washington.

Jim Farrar was the walk-off hero for Cleveland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bobcats shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Said Farrar: "What's not to like about a walk-off win?"

The Eagles have now dropped 5 straight.
