Terriers Nip Seagulls, 4-3
|
The Boston Terriers faced a tough opponent in San Francisco pitcher Arturo Lopez, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Mission Field by a final score of 4-3. Lopez went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Layton Taylor got credit for the save for Boston. It was his 3rd of the year. The Terriers improved their record to 27-39 with the win over San Francisco.
Charlie Zacharias provided a timely hit. The Boston right fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Terriers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"This was a good win," said Zacharias.
