Morrison goes 3-for-4 to Fuel Wolverines Offense
|
The Detroit Wolverines defeated the Baltimore Lords, 7-2, in American Baseball League action at Seton Hill Stadium. Pete Morrison pulled his weight. The 9-year veteran went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Scott Litwak, the winner, goes to 3-4. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts over 6.2 innings. The Wolverines, at 35-33, have now won 4 straight.
Morrison contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Detroit in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Morrison took a changeup from Pete Veirs and stroked the home run to left. His 12th home run of the season allowed the Wolverines to leap in front, 2-1.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Morrison told the Detroit Daily News.
