Bluebirds Win 2-1 Walk-Off
|
Brooklyn and Pittsburgh left the crowd in suspense until the last at-bat.
The Brooklyn Bluebirds picked up a win at Flatbush Park, downing the Pittsburgh Industrials, 2-1. On the mound for Brooklyn was right-hander Jorge Sandoval, who played a pivotal role in the win. Bob Hill, 1-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings.
Brooklyn got a knockout punch from John Seidler. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Seidler.
Brooklyn goes to 4-3.
