Knickerbockers Win at San Diego, 8-3
|
Bob White made an impact in the 8-3 New York win over San Diego. White was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. New York pitcher Chris Hull got the win. He's now 5-5. Mark Pike was tagged with the loss. The 'W' lifts New York's record to 37-30.
New York second baseman Steve Wright contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 79th hit of the season and put the Knickerbockers ahead, 3-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Wright.
