Hoffmeier Delivers Walk-Off Win for Burros
|
Starting pitcher John Gannon had a solid game. He was a big reason the Denver Burros throttled the Chicago Traders, 2-1 in 10 innings. Denver reliever Archie Sereni picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Skip Crawford was saddled with the loss. The Burros raised their record to 27-41.
The decisive blow was delivered by Dick Hoffmeier in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 27-year old left-handed pitcher Skip Crawford to win the game for Denver. The home crowd went nuts.
Hoffmeier attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
