Pobladores Take Down Empires, 6-5
The Los Angeles Pobladores faced a tough opponent in New York pitcher Andy Humphrey, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Queens Field by a final score of 6-5. Humphrey went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. Leon Fairley, now 4-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Carlos Novoa was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 5 save opportunities.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Chuck Gunter came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing New York pitcher Jack Neenan, he hit a first pitch sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Los Angeles on top, 6-5.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Gunter.

Los Angeles goes to 31-37, New York to 36-32.
