Houston got a terrific game from first baseman Mickey Hoffman. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Chicago, 10-5. Hoffman was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2. Chicago reliever Mark Evert was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Angel Colon. Denny Chambers earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.

With one out in the bottom of the fifth, Gary Getman put Chicago in front, 7-5, with a 2-run single. The Hawks went on to win the ballgame.

"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Getman.

After today's action, Chicago sits at 29-39; Houston slips to 27-41.
