Knickerbockers Get One-Run Win at San Diego
New York starter Dave Torre pitched well against the San Diego Captains at San Diego Sporting Complex. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. The third-place Knickerbockers improved to 36-35.

New York used a timely hit from Francisco Chavez to get the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Knickerbockers ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Torre said.
