The Montreal Habitants topped the Dallas Wranglers, 10-4, at Bluff Park. Montreal catcher Marvin Walker was a spark plug for the offense. He was 1-1 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Reliever Dave Quinlan picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Dave Gilson, who signed a 4-year contract worth $1,628,000 on 02/02/1976, took the loss. The loss drops the Wranglers to 1-7.

Montreal used the clutch hitting of Don Hill to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Habitants the lead, 8-4. For the game, Hill had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
