Knickerbockers Lose to Captains, 3-1
The San Diego Captains went home winners at San Diego Sporting Complex, thanks in large part to starter Ray Heath. Heath stifled the New York Knickerbockers, enabling San Diego to grab the 3-1 win. Earning his 9th save for San Diego was Ed Prater. The Captains now have a record of 37-33.

The Captains got a big at-bat from third baseman Reid Rodgers. For the game, Rodgers was 1 for 3 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 9th double of the season gave San Diego a 2-1 lead.

"Ray was dictating to their hitters," said San Diego manager Joe Mack.
