The Cincinnati Packers scooped up a win at Quakers Stadium, dumping the Philadelphia Quakers, 3-2. John Stoddard, who is tied for 10th in the NBL in quality starts with 10, was essential to his team's success. Stoddard, now 4-4, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Jerry Meek earned the save for Cincinnati, his 4th of the year.
Stan Timmons, who is tied for 2nd in the NBL in doubles with 23, had a direct impact on the outcome. Timmons contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Cincinnati up, 3-1.
