Wolverines Need Extra Innings to Top Lords, 10-9
Jerry Plumley was a major factor in the 10-9 Detroit win over Baltimore. The Wolverines right fielder was 3-6 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Gary Doll in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Gilberto Rivera took the loss. The win makes Detroit 37-31.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 14th. With one out, Plumley hit a fastball from Gilberto Rivera for a run-scoring double. The Wolverines, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

Plumley said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
