The San Francisco Seagulls overcame a pretty good performance by Chicago shortstop Ron Brown, beating the Hawks, 6-5, at Hyde Park Stadium. Brown was 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Jeff Butler in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Gary Ingram took the loss. San Francisco, with the win, is 5-2.

Greg Leggett helped out the San Francisco cause in the top of the ninth inning with a 2-run home run. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
