Captains 7-2 Victors Over New York

The San Diego Captains got a good effort from starter Dave Fields in defeating the New York Knickerbockers at San Diego Sporting Complex. The final score was 7-2. Fields picked up the win for San Diego, going 8.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 4-5. After today's action, San Diego sits at 39-29; New York slips to 37-32.
Bob Anderson had a big 2-run double for the Captains in the bottom of the fourth inning. With San Diego leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from former first round draft pick Danny Abril and swatted a double to center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Captains ahead, 4-0.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Fields.
