Hardaway Now 5-5 After Beating Explorers
|
Independence Field featured a tense pitchers' duel.
Kansas City pitcher Waldo Hardaway did his part in helping his team defeat the St. Louis Explorers, 2-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Bob Crosby recorded his 15th save for Kansas City.
Hardaway was in the zone, shutting down St. Louis hitters over 7 innings. Hardaway, who threw 68 pitches, allowed 1 run on 2 hits. He also tallied 4 punchouts.
"Waldo is good at sticking to his strengths," said Kansas City manager DD Martin.
With the win, Kansas City goes to 35-34, while the Explorers fall to 37-35.
