Northmen Beat Hawks, 6-4
|
With third baseman Emil Wathen leading the charge, the Twin Cities Northmen defeated the Chicago Hawks, 6-4, at Twin Cities Stadium. Wathen, who is a two-time All-Star, was 4-4 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2. Edwin Gonzalez was the winner. He's now 2-2. The loser was 14-year veteran Billy Reed. Twin Cities has run its win streak to 4 straight.
Edwin Gonzalez's at-bat in the bottom of the second inning was a big one for Twin Cities. Coming to bat with one out, the bases loaded and Twin Cities trailing 3-1, the pitcher drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"There's so many different ways you can win a game," said winning manager Jason Gudim.
