Eagles Lose to Industrials, 6-2
|
The first-place Pittsburgh Industrials picked up another win.
The Pittsburgh Industrials topped the Washington Eagles, 6-2, the lion's share of the credit going to catcher Terry McClellan. On the day, McClellan was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Industrials. Pittsburgh, at 44-27, is 4 games up in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.
Garry Schon had a big 2-run double for the Industrials in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Pittsburgh leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from 29-year old left-handed pitcher Alex Fonseca and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Industrials ahead, 3-0.
"Guys seem to be putting together some really nice at-bats right now," said Industrials manager Vincent Wicker.
