Larry Wools made an impact in the 13-6 Washington win over New York. Wools, who finished 5th in the NBL in hits with 187 in 1971, went 3-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 6 RBI. David Rodriquez earned his 1st save, after closing out the game. The 6th-place Eagles have won 4 straight.

With Washington leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Wools hit a sinker from Tim Fried for a 2-run double. It was his 14th double of the season and put the Eagles ahead, 4-1.
