|
The Montreal Habitants picked up a win at LaSalle Stadium, topping the Baltimore Lords, 4-3. On the mound for Montreal was left-hander Bob Schar. He played a principal role in the triumph. Montreal reliever Hervé Lelièvre, who is tied for 2nd in the ABL in saves with 10, was credited with the win. His record goes to 3-0. Denny Boyd took the loss for Baltimore. The Habitants, now 39-31, have won 9 in a row.
Montreal took a 4-3 lead on Charlie Bartels's 10th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Bartels hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Baltimore pitcher Denny Boyd visibly frustrated.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Schar told the Montreal Herald.
