The Houston Drillers converted a terrific effort from starter Francisco Castro into a win over the Dallas Wranglers at Sam Houston Field. The Drillers won the game by a final score of 7-0. The slumping Wranglers have dropped 7 in a row.

Houston second baseman Lou Ward contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a cutter to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 59th hit of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 3-0.

"We certainly don't want to get used to losing," said losing manager William Albrecht.
