St. Louis Rookie Hurls His Way to Award

Bruce Cardenas, the St. Louis starter, is the latest National Baseball League Rookie of the Month award winner. League officials made that announcement today.
In June he started 5 games with a 3-1 record, a 3.51 ERA, and 20 strikeouts in 33.1 innings.
On the season Cardenas has compiled a 6-4 mark with a 3.28 ERA in 13 starts. In pitching 90.2 innings he has 50 strikeouts and 36 walks while limiting the opposition to a .240 batting average.
