Barrage of Hits Gets Harper NBL Award Monday, April 24th , 1972 Bill Harper stepped up to the plate in a big way last week and today he took home the National Baseball League Player of the Week honors. The Cleveland right fielder ripped opposing pitchers for 9 hits in 19 at-bats and 1 home run. He put together a sizzling .474 batting average as he knocked in 3 runs and scored 5 times. So far this season, Harper has recorded a .370 batting average with 27 hits, 5 home runs, 13 RBIs, 19 runs scored and a .452 OBP. |
