Barton Gone for Season in Buffalo Tuesday, September 21st, 1948 A blow for Frankie Barton today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 6 months with a broken bone in the elbow. Barton suffered the injury running the bases. Although officials from the Buffalo Beavers are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Barton's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature. In 127 games this year Barton has posted a .284 average and put up these numbers: 11 home runs, 50 RBIs and 69 runs scored. |
