Peters Pitches 3-0 Shutout for Chicago
Sunday, May 7th , 1972
Bobby Peters bent a little, but he didn't break against the St. Louis Explorers. The Chicago Traders pitcher hurled a 5-hit, 3-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering 1 walk and tallying 6 strikeouts.
"Bobby is good at getting out of jams," Traders manager Larry Link told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."
Up to now Peters has compiled an ERA of 0.52 with a 3-0 mark over 7 starts. He has 34 strikeouts in 51.2 innings and has held opponents to a .204 batting average.
