Sunday, May 29th , 1966
Roger Long kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Pittsburgh Industrials were all smiles after winning 6-0 against the New York Knickerbockers at Allegheny Field today. The right-handed Long gave up no runs in his start, permitted 5 hits and had 6 strikeouts.
"If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Long said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be."
In the current season in 10 starts, Roger Long has a record of 5-2 with 56 strikeouts in 80 innings and a 2.81 ERA.
