San Diego Ships Allen to Philadelphia Monday, January 17th , 1972 In a move that has fans in both cities buzzing, the San Diego Captains and the Philadelphia Quakers have agreed to a deal that will have 26-year old RF Larry Allen heading to Philadelphia in exchange for a 1st round draft pick. Provided they pass a physical, the players should be with their respective teams in time for tomorrow's games. In his 306-game career, Allen has hit at a .262 clip and collected 211 hits with 40 doubles, 7 triples, 17 homers, and 88 RBIs. |
