Nunez Fires Shutout in Bulls Victory
Thursday, May 20th , 1965
Kansas City Bulls starter Pedro Nunez really did a number on the New York Knickerbockers today, shutting them out 8-0 on 5 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 3 walks and had 5 strikeouts.

"We didn't have good at-bats," said New York manager William Bowen. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Nunez."

This year Nunez has worked 53.1 innings with 38 strikeouts en route to a 4-2 record and a 2.36 ERA.
