Schar Pitches Terriers to 4-0 Win
Friday, May 28th , 1965
Boston Terriers hurler Bob Schar was stingy with runs in his latest outing against the Toronto Hurons, shutting them out 4-0 on 5 hits.
"Bob was very aggressive tonight," Boston manager Tom Lacher said. "He threw everything he had with a lot of confidence."
Through 9 innings, Schar tallied 7 strikeouts and allowed no walks.
"He was throwing strikes with all his pitches and mixing it up well," losing manager Jim Burns said. "Schar has a sneaky fastball, and whatever that off-speed pitch was, it was keeping our timing off."
Schar has posted a 5-1 record for the year with a 1.88 ERA. Teams are hitting .189 against him and he has rung up 60 strikeouts in 72 innings.
