Espinoza Tosses 4-0 Shutout for New York
Tuesday, June 4th , 1963
Jose Espinoza dominated the Kansas City Bulls with a brilliant 5-hit shutout in a New York Knickerbockers 4-0 triumph at Independence Field. The New York hurler fanned 6 and walked 1 in the game and was singled out for praise afterward by the opposing manager.
"He really kept us in check today," Bulls skipper DD Martin said in postgame comments. "Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away. We took some pathetic swings."
This season Espinoza has compiled a 8-2 mark with a 1.26 ERA in 12 starts.
