May's #1 Rookie Named by NBL Tuesday, June 1st , 1965 Joe Clabaugh of the Cleveland Bobcats was rock-solid and steady on the hill this month. He spun a fine 4-1 won-lost mark and 1.65 ERA in 6 starts to get the National Baseball League Rookie of the Month honors. Clabaugh had a very impressive May, finishing with 21 strikeouts in 49 innings and holding opposing hitters to a .189 average. In 8 starts this season Clabaugh has chalked up a 4-3 record and a 3.28 ERA. |
