Breaking MLB News: Draft Pool Revealed Saturday, March 5th , 1977 The list of players who have declared for the first-year player draft was announced earlier today. BNN will have special coverage dedicated to this draft. Just look in the transaction section for the special page dedicated to the young players hoping to make a name for themselves in the show. Teams now have a chance to scout the draft pool for 180 days before the draft is held. The early favorites to be high picks are the following: 1. Paul Lockwood, 17 year-old RHP out of high-school. 2. Walt Mazzola, 17 year-old RHP out of high-school. 3. Tom Ibsen, 20 year-old LHP out of college. 4. Doug Will, 18 year-old SS out of high-school. 5. Dave Lasky, 21 year-old 3B out of college. 6. Jerry Keller, 18 year-old SS out of high-school. 7. Marty Teixeira, 20 year-old C out of college. 8. Roger Renshaw, 22 year-old 2B out of college. 9. Ed Staple, 18 year-old C out of high-school. 10.
