Denver, Pittsburgh Finalize Trade
Tuesday, April 5th , 1977
It likely won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the Denver Burros and Pittsburgh Industrials finalized a trade today. Denver will send 30-year old RF Jimmy Benson and a 4th round draft pick to the Industrials, while the Burros will receive 22-year old RHP Rich Woods.

"We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," Burros general manager Clark Anderson said.

The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players joining their new ballclubs by the end of the day.

Benson has played in 1201 games and posted a lifetime .257 average. He has 1066 hits, 208 doubles, 31 triples and 103 homers. In addition he has driven in 526 runs and scored 484 times.
