Patterson Reaches 2000
Saturday, July 3rd , 1965
Stan Patterson started out as a baby-faced rookie many seasons ago. Yesterday at Twin Cities Stadium the Chicago veteran joined the league's 2000-hit club. Patterson achieved that milestone with a 3-for-5 day in the Hawks 10-2 win over the Twin Cities Northmen.

He spoke to reporters in the clubhouse after the game and said, "Looking at the list of all the great players who have done this is humbling. It is a great honor to be among them."

In 1788 career games Patterson is hitting at a .303 pace with 2000 hits with 336 doubles, 88 triples and 251 homers while scoring 1176 runs and racking up 1054 RBIs. He logged 839 walks and owns a .380 on-base percentage.
