Freeman Homers 3 Times Against Cincinnati
Saturday, April 14th , 1973
Every now and then, everything just comes together.
Ron Freeman discovered that today at Roman Arena, as he smashed three home runs during the 14-0 New York Knickerbockers win over the Cincinnati Packers.
"I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the New York left fielder said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it."
Freeman, who finished 2nd in the NBL in RBI with 105 last year, finished the day with 4 hits in 6 at-bats and 6 RBIs.
Ron Freeman hit a solo-shot off John Stoddard in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Rich Pedersen in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Rich Pedersen in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This season, Freeman is swinging the bat at a .244 rate with 10 hits in 41 at-bats. To date he has hit 4 home runs, scored 11 runs and driven in 9.
