NBL Player of the Week Named Monday, May 7th , 1973 What's in a number? In baseball, just about everything. The numbers that Pittsburgh's Lew Ward put up last week were the envy of the league, as Ward came away with National Baseball League Player of the Week honors. He belted out 10 hits in 26 at-bats, 3 home runs and 11 RBIs last week as he posted his .385 batting average. So far this season, Ward is hitting .222 with 4 home runs. |
