The 28-game hitting streak of Larry Wools has come to an end. The Washington Eagles second baseman went 0-for-2 in his team's 6-4 loss to the St. Louis Explorers at Monument Field.

"It's not just Larry who came up short," Eagles manager Juan Placeholder said in his postgame press conference. "This was a team loss."

Currently Wools is batting .338 with 2 home runs and 16 RBIs.
