Terriers Blanked by Violas, 2-0
Sunday, April 20th , 1958
It wasn't easy but the Baltimore Lords made it look that way.
Starter Xavier Violas shut out the Boston Terriers despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Baltimore Lords cruised to victory, 2-0. Violas allowed only 2 hits and rang up 11 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
